Selma Setup Instructions
MessageNet can be used via various third-party add-ons that have the ability to send SMS messages. For setup instructions please select from the below available products.
Note: These products have not been developed by MessageNet and we accept no responsibility for their use.
You must have an account with MessageNet and have an active web portal username and password to use these services.
Selma - Mozilla Firefox (Add-on)
Firstly you must locate, download, and install the file. To download the file click the download file below:
Once installed Open Modilla Firefox and go to File --> Tools --> Selma (to open the above window).
Secondly you must configure Selma for MessageNet.
Select the 'Settings button' then 'Add' to start the Profile Wizard. Give the Profile a name (such as MessageNet), Select 'Custom Provider' and match the exact string that you see below (copy and paste to avoid mistakes) as the custom URL:
Custom URL: https://www.messagenet.com.au/dotnet/lodge.asmx/LodgeSMSMessage?Username=%user%&Pwd=%pw%&PhoneNumber=%to%&PhoneMessage=%text% (This supports 1-way SMS only - contact MessageNet support for 2-way support)
Username: "provided by MessageNet"
Password: "provided by MessageNet"
The Profile settings can be viewed below:
Once your new profile is added simply try sending yourself a test message (remember to use the international prefix for the country that you are sending to if you plan to send international SMS - not Australia).
A successful SMS will diplay the window below:
